A Lifelong Passion for the Game

I was born and raised in Barbourville, Kentucky — a small town in the rural southeast part of the state. Golf has been part of my life since I was four years old, when my dad first started taking me to the course with him.

By age ten, I was playing competitively and never looked back. The First Tee was a big part of my development, giving me opportunities to play at some incredible places — including Pebble Beach Golf Links. Competing in high-level junior tournaments across the country helped me grow both as a player and as a person.

Bringing Quality Instruction Home

I went on to attend Ferris State University, where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Business – PGA Golf Management, and later became a PGA Class A Professional. Through my education, internships, and years of hands-on experience, I’ve had the privilege of learning from some of the best instructors in the country. Those mentors shaped my understanding of the game, and I’m passionate about passing that knowledge on to every golfer I work with.

After working at facilities across the country — from Minneapolis to Wisconsin to Florida — I chose to return home and start HKB Links Golf Academy. Growing up in a rural community meant that my family often had to travel long distances for professional instruction. When I founded HKB Links, my goal was simple:
to bring high-quality coaching back to the place that shaped me, and to make great instruction accessible to golfers right here at home.

“My goal is to make a difference in the same community that shaped me.”

Beyond the Course

When I’m not coaching or out on the course, I enjoy spending time with my family, hiking, working out, and cooking. I believe that balance off the course leads to better performance on it — and I carry that mindset into every lesson I teach.
